The song was written after Sheeran played a last minute gig at an event for the homeless. The chorus of The A Team is also the chorus for the song "Little Lady" by Ed Sheeran and featuring Mikill Pane. Edward "Ed" Sheeran (born 17 February 1991) is a British singer/songwriter who is currently signed under record label Atlantic Records. Sheeran broke through commercially in June 2011, when his debut single "The A Team" debuted at number 3 on the UK chart.
